Weekly Weigh In: Week Twelve

This week I lost 1.3 making my total 9.8. I'm almost back to the 10 I lost a few weeks ago. Slow and steady wins the race. That will be my mantra. Next week when I weigh I will be in Arizona seeing those two people and the rest of their clan. But that little guy isn't so little anymore. He's walking and talking and from what I'm told being a typical little boy. That picture was from December 2010 when he was almost 3 months old. That's my sweet little Noah who I guess at times isn't always very sweet. I need to make sure I take lots of pictures. He's growing up so fast. I can't wait to them.

This was end of September early October 2011 right after his first birthday. His first trip to Indiana. He's grown so much even from then.

Weekly Weigh In: Week Eleven

Losing weight really is all in your head. You have to be mentally ready to make a lifestyle change or you won't succeed. I got back on track this week and lost 1.5 so my total is 8.5. Yeah! 1.5 away from being back to 10. The library started a Wellness program. It isn't about losing weight it's just about getting healthy and being well. I think it is a fun idea and a fun way to keep me on track. It started yesterday and will go until August. After the 5 months the top three staff members that participated that have the most points will win prizes with one prize being a day off with pay. There are several ways you can earn points, and one of them is by making healthy foods to share with your co-workers. I can do that. So bring on the wellness.

Weekly Weigh In: Week Ten and a Meal Plan

It's amazing how much damage two days of eating crappy can do to a person. In two days I gained 2.9 pounds. On Saturday when I weighed myself I was staying the same. I should have stayed strong and stuck to eating healthy but I was having an emotional day and I had Mcdonald's and pizza. Sunday didn't fair much better. I got back into the swing of things on Monday but the damage had been done. It is hard to pick yourself back up from beating yourself down. I felt like utter crap on Monday morning. I had terrible heartburn and my stomach hurt really bad. I really shouldn't do this to myself. It isn't worth it. Now instead of having lost 10 pounds, I have only lost 7. In the past three weeks I have jerked myself around. In the beginning I had thought about not posting my weight loss journey on here but I needed to hold myself accountable and it isn't always smooth sailing. To help me this week I have created a meal plan.

Monday/Tuesday: Turkey Italian Sausage Cheese Tortellini Soup (Recipe to Come)
Wednesday: Chicken Broccoli Bacon Ranch Foil Packets (Recipe to Come)
Thursday: Slow Cooker Cheesy Chicken and Rice (Recipe to Come)
Friday: Unstuffed Bell Peppers (Recipe to Come)
Saturday: Eat Out
Sunday: Crescent Sausage Egg and Cheese Bake (Recipe to Come)

Weekly Weigh In: Week Nine

Week Nine I lost .1. Not great but at least it wasn't a gain. I have to admit I'm struggling a little bit. I just haven't felt well lately, which isn't anything new with me. I have had everyday headaches since last April. The medicine worked for a few months but has stopped working since last November. My doctor even upped my dosage. I started going to a Chiropractor and that has helped but it isn't a cure. I just wish they could find the cause. Thankfully I don't have an aneurysm or tumors which is great but a headache every day isn't normal. It gets frustrating to wake up ever day and not feel good or to wake up and my head hurts so bad I can't go to work. Something needs to give. I haven't been cooking very much lately which doesn't help with my weight loss. I need to hang in there and not give up.

Some yummy items that I think will help are:

Better N Peanut Butter: I always seem to crave peanut butter when I'm trying to lose weight and peanut butter is high in points. Better N Peanut Butter is only 1 point per Tablespoon and it is really yummy. A little sweeter then regular peanut butter but it spreads really well which is a plus.

VitaTop Muffins: I found some at Strack and Van Til. You can order then online. These aren't cheap but so far I have tried the Banana Nut Muffins and Deep Chocolate and I really like the Deep Chocolate. The Banana Nut are good but I'm leaning toward liking the Deep Chocolate more. I think I might order some online.

Food Warning:

Whipped Peanut Butter Spread: This stuff was down right nasty. I bought it because it was 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 sugar and everything else. I thought I would give it a go. It was bad.

Weekly Weigh In: Week Eight

This week wasn't a great weight in for me. I gained .8. I have nothing to blame but myself. I had pizza twice last week and Don Pablo's plus ice cream. I knew when I went to Don Pablo's I would gain but I really wanted it, so I went with my want. With this weight gain I could give up but I'm not going to. This is a slight set back but I will get it off next week.

Weekly Weigh In: Week Seven

I lost .5 this past week. Slow and steady wins the race. My total is 10.6. I am proud that I have lost consistently the past seven weeks but I would like to lose solid pounds. I need to stay away from pizza. It never fails. I get back on WW and I crave pizza. I do enjoy pita pizzas and other variations but nothing compares to JJ's. But I count it so I don't feel so guilty. I would like to have ten more pounds off before my trip to Arizona in March but if that doesn't happen I'll be happy with consistent weight losses.

Here's to another good week.

Weekly Weigh In: Week Five and Six

For week 5 and 6 I lost 1.3 making my grand total 10.1. It has taken me this long to post because the day of week 5's weigh in my house got broke into and then for week 6 my Internet went down. It has been a crazy couple of weeks.

Along with doing WW's again I started working out at Charter Fitness. I hate working out. I really don't enjoy it at all. So it helps that I go with Joyce from work and we work out together. I take a book to read but they also have music playing and TV's to watch. I enjoy the company, not so much the exercise. If it wasn't for Joyce I probably wouldn't go. I try and be honest with myself. I'm usually good when it comes to changing my eating habits but when it comes to exercise, not so much. Joyce and I laugh because it was our other co-worker Kris that really wanted us to join. She and her husband joined for Christmas. She wanted other people to go with. Joyce and I go faithfully and Kris is a book of excuses. When she does go she's antsy to leave. But Kris is skinny so I wouldn't be all gung ho to exercise either. It's just funny that she wanted us to join and shes nowhere to be seen. But we still love her.

On week 5's weigh in I went to work out with Joyce and when I got home I noticed that my front door was slightly ajar. I wondered if my husband might have forgotten to close and lock it when he left for work and proceeded to go into the house. That is when I noticed that our pill bottles from on top of the microwave had been rifled through and once I got into the kitchen I saw that the window had been broken out and my cat Sage was standing in the glass on the floor. Fortunately they didn't take anything of value other than some pills but I had to clean up the mess from the broken window and replace the window. It isn't a good feeling knowing someone has been in your home.

Today I spent time in the emergency room. I have been having sharp pains in my right side every time I breathe. It is very painful. I had a ct scan of my stomach area and a chest x-ray and everything was okay. No, internal problems. I do have a urinary tract infection, which is weird because I don't feel like I have one. So they sent me home with antibiotics and pain killers. I hope it helps because I'm tired of the pain. I want to keep exercising but it is difficult with the pain in my side.

My hubby is awesome. He was willing to sit with me during a Twilight marathon but I spared him from the sparkly vampires. We are watching The Shield.

Weekly Weigh In: Week Four

This week I lost 2 pounds. That makes my four week total 8.8. It's amazing how much better I feel just losing 8 pounds. Now if I could just get my migraines to go away I would be golden. I have to say that exercising has been fun. I couldn't do it without my girls. They help make it fun. My craving for sugar has diminished quite a bit. I still have a sweet tooth but not like I used to. I'm satisfied with a sugar free/fat free pudding over an ice cream. Not that I haven't had some dessert over the past four weeks but I tracked it so I'm not going to feel guilty.

I promise to post some food recipes soon. I have been cooking I just haven't been taking pictures. I will be remedying that. I have some back log recipes I need to post. I'll be getting to those as well.

Here is to another good week.

Weekly Weigh In: Week Three

Tracking my food sometimes seems like this cartoon. Except I'm not trying to figure out how many grams of fat the inside of a sneaker is. I am super grateful to have Weight Watcher online tools. I can type in my food and it figures out the points for me. It would be hard to do my life style change without my online tools. It makes my life so much easier.

Getting on the scale this morning I almost cried. The numbers told me I gained. I was like what... But I didn't think it did it right because my scale flashes three time and then it shows the number and this time it didn't so I stepped off and waited a minute and stepped back on. One, two, three and the number on the scale was much better. Just to be sure I weighed my self again and it was the same the second time. I lost .7 this week. It would have been nice to lose a full pound but I'm happy with .7. My total is 6.8. I started exercising and I'm hoping that will help in the long run. I feel better so I'm happy about that. Here's too another good week!

Weekly Weigh In: Week Two

I was a little worried this week. I said yes to that brownie a couple of times but I tracked it. Will and I had a romantic over nighter but we had a dinner of subway and I brought healthy snacks. We even were going to do breakfast at Denny's because you can build your own grand slam with healthy choices but our GPS was wanting us to make a bunch of u turns so we ended up at a local restaurant called Rise and Dine. From the outside it looked like a diner but the inside it was beautifully decorated. Warm colors, and a fireplace. I was able to get a healthy scramble with egg beaters, spinach, tomatoes, onions, and green peppers. It came with fruit and I was able to substitute the English muffin for a hearty wheat pancake. The pancake was so good. It had a very yummy cinnamon flavor.

I worried for naught. I lost 1.4 this week. Making my total 6.1. When I tracked my weight I got a little gold star for losing 5 pounds. It's nice that the online tools try and keep it the same as if you were at a meeting. Even if I would have gained I decided to not beat myself up about it. I tracked all week, even the brownies and party food I ate. I'm proud of myself for that. Here's to another good week.

Weekly Weigh In: Week One

I thought this comic was cute. Sometimes the scale can make you cry. Thankfully this was not one of those times. I lost 4.7 pounds this week. Yeah, go me! I had a really good week of eating well and tracking everything that I ate. I even tracked my coffee creamer. I'm glad I did because the creamer I use is 1 point per tablespoon. Even a bottle of Vitamin Water Zero is 1 point. Eating healthier really makes you think about what you put in your body. I was proud of myself because I said no to cake twice, once at a retirement party and another time at a birthday party. I really didn't even miss it. I have a couple yummy savory and dessert WW recipes I can't wait to make for our Go Live party at work on Friday. So here's to another good upcoming week!
